The Smedinghoff family has been touched by the outpouring of support from people around the world looking for ways to help continue Anne’s work. In lieu of sending flowers, we ask that you consider supporting organizations that are engaged in the same great work that Anne dedicated herself to so selflessly.

    Tom and MaryBeth,
We are so terribly sorry on your loss of Anne. What a beautiful person. She accomplished so very much in her very short life. It is a pleasure to read all the articles about her joy of life and her ambition to help others. Such a wonderful example to others. We pray that God will comfort you and your family.

    Dear Smedinghoff’s,
I read about Anne on the internet. She stood for something, something not many people stand for today. most people are too selfish and live in their own little bubbles.
Anne and many others like her are an example for me.
I hope the charities continue to carry out the type of work she strived for.
I send you all my love, regards and wishes from India.
    regards,
    Sambuddha

    Dear Smedinghoff Family,

I was shocked and saddened when I read of Anne’s tragic death. Although I never knew her or your family, and am today far removed from River Forest, I lived there when I was in high school, was an active teen in St. Luke’s Parish, and even attended Fenwick for a few years ( ’66 to ’68) before they and I realized our paths were diverging. I am terribly sorry for your loss, but glad to know that great young people are still being raised in that very unusual town. I share your sense of loss considering the remarkable gifts your daughter’s life already gave us.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I’m a former Oak Parker and though I did not know Anne, was devastated to learn such sad news. My son is 25 and I can’t imagine. I just cannot imagine the hurt that your family is feeling. I hold you in my prayers, while God holds Anne.
